CEROC dancing is a form of modern jive dance that you can dance to almost any kind of music with a partner. Ceroc dancing has been around since the 1980’s and has spread through the UK as more dance-teaching networks have set up due to popular demand.
It proves a great form of exercise, fantastic way to make new friends and a night-out mid week all rolled into one! Nantwich Ceroc has been running at Nantwich Civic Hall for the past six years and regularly attracts dancers from Chester, Congleton, Crewe, Northwich, Stoke on Trent, Sandbach, Alsager, Middlewich, Manchester, Stafford, and Shrewsbury, as well as locally. The venue is regarded as one of the best in the area, with air conditioning, loads of safe free parking, a large sprung wooden floor, regularly attracting more than 130 dancers a night. The highly regarded DJs play the latest modern chart dance music, dance classics from the past, as well as swing and blues
The great thing about modern jive taught by Ceroc teachers is that it’s very easy to pick up as the night starts off with a 40 minute beginners lesson. In that time you will be taught four basic moves that string together into a dance routine you can then practice in the freestyle session to music later on in the evening. Many people that come along don’t have a regular dance partner so in the lessons you never dance with the same partner for more than a few minutes, before your whisked off to the next to practice the next move! So if you fancy a go, coming without a partner is not a problem!
So if you fancy a new activity that’ll improve your fitness, confidence on the dance floor, help you meet new friends and relax on a totally fun night out ….come along every Tuesday at 7.30 to the Civic Hall in Nantwich.
